In January 2023, Eric set himself a somewhat crazy challenge: to write his first novel. Having never considered such a project before, he asked himself, "Why not?"

A simple joke tossed at breakfast with his partner turned into an obsessive idea. On January 10th, his birthday (note it for gifts), Eric opened a blank Word file and began to write. Nineteen chapters emerged in a few months, fueled by a newfound energy and a symbolic goal: to give this book as a birthday present to his partner.

But life quickly resumes its normal course. Between daily life, ups and downs, and the major news in New Caledonia, the project falls asleep... until 2025.

Determined to see it through to the end, Eric rereads his manuscript and decides to be daring: he relies on artificial intelligence not to write for him, but to help him structure himself, keep up the pace, and rekindle his creative flame. And it works. The novel 2100 is finished.

A writing and self-publishing adventure

For Eric, writing is an introspective journey, but also a reflection on the world and the choices we make every day. With 2100, he questions our heritage, our values, and the future we are shaping.

He then decided to embark on self-publishing, an approach synonymous with freedom, but also with challenges: choosing the cover, covering the costs, promoting oneself...

Eric says it himself: "Freedom comes at a price, but the experience is worth it. How proud I am to be able to say one day: 'I did it, from A to Z.'"
